Heaton
Heaton is a large residential area situated about a mile east of the city centre just off the main coast road, with excellent bus and metro links to both city and coast.
The west side of Heaton is bordered by the Jesmond Dene/Heaton Park conservation area, which offers a welcome escape from the bustle of the city. For shopping, look no further than Chillingham Road which at half a mile long offers bars, cafes, restaurants and gyms. The social scene in the city is a few stops away on public transport but Heaton remains popular due to its easy access to the city, its excellent shopping area and diverse recreational facilities.
Heaton has a wide range of residential property and this is reflected in the population of the area which has a good mix of students, professionals, young families, mature families and retired people. |
